The University of Florida Preston A. Wells, Jr. Center for Brain Tumor Therapy was established in 2007, to bring together UF doctors and researchers with special expertise in brain tumors. The mission of the center is to provide truly comprehensive care, superior outcomes and to offer a streamlined experience for patients, caregivers and referring physicians. The center is co-directed by Erin M. Dunbar, MD, an adult neuro-oncologist, and William A. Friedman, MD, a neurosurgeon and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery.
The Center has medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists working with neurosurgeons to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients. Patients and caregivers are supported by the Center's patient navigator and are provided the opportunity to participate in education programs, counseling and support groups. The Center offers a full compliment of advanced therapies and there are also a number of established clinical trials.
