Gregory J. Velat, M.D.
began his residency in Neurosurgery at UF in 2003. Dr. Velat obtained his BS in Biomedical Science from UF Junior Honors Program in May 2000. He was awarded his medical degree in May 2003 from UF where he was ranked 5th out of 110 students. Dr. Velat was also presented with the 2003 Neurosurgery Student award at UF. During his research year in 2006-07 he studied basic vascular biology and potential stem cell incorporation into animal models of aneurysm formation under the direction of Dr. Brian Hoh. Dr. Velat received the UF Neurosurgery High Score Award for the ABNS primary exam in 2007. He is expected to complete his Residency in June 2010.
