Atchar Sudhyadhom, PhD, was born in New York City (Queens). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in physics and chemistry from the University of Florida in 2003 where he stayed to pursue graduate studies in medical physics.

In 2005, he earned his Master of Science degree in medical physics where his thesis focused on software methods for image guidance in deep brain stimulation.

In 2010, he completed his work towards his doctorate in medical physics. His doctoral dissertation focused on imaging and image guidance towards applications in neurosurgery (specifically deep brain stimulation). After a one year appointment as a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Neurosurgery, Dr. Sudhyadhom joined the faculty in July 2011.

Dr. Sudhyadhom's current research interests are in imaging (especially MRI), image guidance for surgical applications, and radiosurgery. His current research in MR imaging includes development of functional MRI (fMRI) and diffusion weighted imaging techniques/sequences towards novel applications in rehabilitation and image guidance.

Dr. Sudhyadhom is also actively involved with the clinical radiation therapy and radiosurgery program at the UF Veterinary Hospital.
