Malignant glioma invasion
Adult stem cells
Cancer stem cells
Florian A. Siebzehnrubl, MSc, PhD, received both his master’s and his doctorate degree from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany). He did his thesis work in the Department of Neuropathology of the University Hospital Erlangen, where he was working on adult neural stem cell differentiation. He joined Dr. Dennis Steindler’s lab as postdoctoral associate in 2007.
Dr. Siebzehnrubl’s research focuses on invasion of brain cancer stem cells and common molecular programs between neural stem cell migration and tumor invasion. The goal of this effort is to identify novel therapeutic targets and prognostic factors in malignant glioma. He is also interested in neurogenesis and cell migration in neurodegenerative diseases, especially Huntington’s disease.
