Gwen Lombard, Ph.D., R.N., Associate Program Director for Education, Neurosurgery Residency Program holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kent State University, a Masters Degree in Adult Education from Indiana University, a B.S. in Health Occupations Education from Indiana University, and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Purdue University. Dr. Lombard has experience as a nurse, educator, researcher, administrator, and consultant in both hospital and university settings.
Dr. Lombard is responsible for providing educational leadership and expertise to the Neurosurgery Residency Program. Prior to coming to UF, Dr. Lombard served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. While at Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Lombard taught and developed educational materials for medical students on cross-cultural medicine. In 2000, Dr. Lombard was selected to attend the Bryn Mawr Summer Institute for Women Higher Education Administration. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honor society. In 2005, her efforts as a community leader were recognized when she received the "25 Women in Leadership Award" by WEEK-TV and Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce.
