Applicant Information
To apply for the Neurological Surgery Residency Program at the University of Florida, please visit either the ERAS (The Electronic Residency Application Service) or NRMP (National Resident Matching Program) websites.
We anticipate contacting selected applicants in early to mid-October via e-mail. Our interviews take place over two days. The first day will begin around 12-12:30pm with a casual lunch and an overview of the department and program by Chairman William A. Friedman, MD and Program Director J. Richard Lister, MD, MBA. You will then be taken on a tour of our facilities, the campus and the Gainesville area. That evening you will have the opportunity to interact with our current residents in a causal atmosphere for dinner at a local restaurant. The second day will begin at 7:00 am with our regularly scheduled morning conference and interviews will begin at 8am. Interviews will run approximately until 1pm, lunch will be provided but we understand that travel constraints may cause you to leave right after your faculty interviews, and therefore your attendance is not mandatory for the lunch but we encourage you to attend. Gainesville, FL is conveniently located within 1-2 hours driving distance of three of Florida's largest cities (Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville) and has a regional airport. We are also within a day's drive of major metropolitan areas in the Southeast.
Our interview dates are as follows:
- Monday and Tuesday, November 9-10, 2009
- Tuesday and Wednesday, November 17-18, 2009
- Monday and Tuesday, December 7-8, 2009
- Thursday and Friday, January 14-15, 2010
